From March 25 to 27, Elecnova participated in Solar & Storage Live Africa 2026 in Johannesburg, South Africa, showcasing a comprehensive portfolio of C&I and utility-scale energy storage solutions at Booth H5-B55.

Over the three-day event, Elecnova welcomed local system integrators, mining companies, industrial park operators, and customers from across Southern Africa, including Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Mozambique.
Discussions at the exhibition reflected a clear shift in the regional energy market: as businesses seek to address grid instability and rising dependence on costly diesel generation, energy storage is increasingly becoming a critical component of reliable power supply.

The 125 kW / 261 kWh C&I Ultra liquid-cooled ESS, paired with an STS Cabinet, was one of the most discussed solutions at the Elecnova booth.

With seamless switching in as little as 20 ms, the solution enables rapid transition between grid-connected and off-grid operation, helping maintain power supply to critical loads during grid interruptions.
The solution drew particular interest from customers in the mining and manufacturing sectors, where power continuity is critical to daily operations.
The 418 kWh C&I Ultra solution is purpose-built for integration with 800 V PV systems, eliminating the need for an additional step-up transformer.

For large industrial facilities and mining applications, discussions focused particularly on how direct PV integration could help simplify system architecture and improve overall project economics.
Elecnova also showcased its NovaStack containerized energy storage portfolio.
The 500 kW / 1.044 MWh NovaStack adopts a compact 10-foot container design optimized for applications in the African market. It supports integration with multiple energy sources, including PV and diesel generators, with optional seamless on/off-grid switching of less than 20 ms to maintain power for critical loads.

The 1 MW / 2.17 MWh NovaStack supports direct 400 V grid connection and is designed to reduce logistics costs by up to 26%. Project developers showed particular interest in certification progress and delivery lead times.

For larger-scale applications, the 5.015 MWh liquid-cooled battery container integrates high energy capacity within a standard 20-foot container. Its liquid-cooling system maintains cell temperature differences within 3°C, supporting applications including large-scale PV-plus-storage projects and grid-side energy storage.

The higher energy density per container also provides an opportunity to optimize land utilization for large-scale projects.
Elecnova's 120 kWh Solar Pro integrated PV-storage solution also attracted strong interest, particularly from installers serving South Africa's large existing PV market.

Designed for integration with existing solar installations, the solution provides a flexible pathway for customers looking to add energy storage to existing PV assets and increase renewable energy utilization.
The conversations in Johannesburg highlighted a growing demand for energy solutions that can help businesses move from grid instability toward reliable power, and from diesel dependence toward cleaner energy alternatives.
