Two countries and two exhibitions within two weeks highlighted the growing momentum of the Southeast European energy storage market.
Romania and Bulgaria are emerging as increasingly important energy storage markets in Europe. Rapid growth in installed PV capacity, the emergence of negative electricity prices, and rising demand for retrofitting existing solar projects with battery storage are creating new opportunities. At the same time, storage auctions and supportive policy mechanisms are providing greater certainty for project development.

One of the most discussed solutions at both exhibitions was the 125 kW / 261 kWh C&I Ultra liquid-cooled ESS, paired with an STS static transfer switch cabinet.

With seamless switching within 20 ms, the solution helps maintain uninterrupted power supply for critical loads during grid disturbances or outages.
Pack-level liquid cooling maintains cell temperature differences within 3°C, while the battery system is designed for more than 8,000 cycles.
With grid stability and backup power remaining key concerns for C&I users across Southeast Europe, the 261 kWh + STS configuration attracted strong interest from customers in both markets.
The 418 kWh C&I Ultra solution is designed specifically for 800 V PV systems, enabling direct integration without an additional step-up transformer.

As larger-scale PV projects continue to develop across Southeast Europe, the solution attracted particular attention from project developers looking to simplify system architecture, reduce conversion losses, and improve overall project efficiency.
The 1MW / 2.17 MWh NovaStack adopts a standard 20-foot container design and supports direct 400 V grid connection.

Its integrated architecture can reduce logistics costs by up to 26%, while offering a scalable solution for industrial parks and larger energy storage projects.
Project developers at both exhibitions showed particular interest in certification status and local grid connection requirements.
The 5.015 MWh NovaStack battery container delivers high energy density within a standard 20-foot footprint.

Its liquid-cooling system maintains cell temperature differences within 3°C, supporting stable long-term operation.
For Southeast European markets where land utilization and project economics are increasingly important, the high capacity per container drew strong attention from large-scale project developers.
Elecnova also presented its 100 kWh and 120 kWh Solar Pro integrated PV-plus-storage solutions, designed for flexible integration with existing PV installations.

With a substantial installed base of solar projects in both Romania and Bulgaria, demand for energy storage retrofits is beginning to accelerate, making Solar Pro particularly relevant to local installers.
Across both exhibitions, customer discussions centered on three major topics:
Certification and Grid Connection — whether local market access and grid compliance requirements are fully addressed
Project Economics — the viability of energy arbitrage and frequency regulation services
Environmental Adaptability — long-term system reliability under Southeast European operating conditions
